Aplastic Anemia
It is a disease characterized by the inability of the bone marrow to perform its function of producing blood as a result of the decrease in bone marrow precursor cells and the development of fat in the bone marrow. Familial bone marrow failures may be hereditary (congenital such as Fanconi Aplastic Anemia, Diamond Blackfan Anemia, Dyskeratosis Congenita) or acquired. As a result of the bone marrow not producing blood, anemia occurs with symptoms such as pallor, weakness, dizziness, recurrent infections, nose bleeding, and bleeding gums. Although treatments that stimulate the bone marrow and immunotherapies are used as treatment options, the main treatment is bone marrow transplantation. Bone marrow transplants performed in the early period have a higher chance of success and fewer transplant-related complications.
