The application of low-voltage electric current by placing electrodes in defined deep areas of the brain is called DBS. The electrodes are surgically placed in the predefined area by an experienced neurosurgeon. The adjustable battery that will provide electricity to the electrodes is placed on the anterior chest.
It is used in diseases with movement disorders such as Parkinson’s Disease, Essential Tremor, Dystrophies, Tourette Syndrome.
